The season for carving up the Aussie slopes is approaching!

The season for carving up the Aussie slopes is fast approaching! The Snowy Mountains of NSW is Australia’s premier alpine region offering an abundance of winter activities for skiers, snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts, all within easy reach of Jindabyne.

Our nearby Snowy Mountain alpine resorts offer so much more than skiing and snowboarding! From June through September the snow-capped peaks of the Kosciuszko National Park and Snowy Mountains transform to an alpine playground with cross country trails, snow tubing, snow shoeing, tobogganing, backcountry ski tours and family-friendly off-piste activities.

The Snowy Mountains of NSW are home to four diverse ski areas, Thredbo, Perisher, Charlotte’s Pass and Selwyn.

The award-winning European style resort of Thredbo has been voted “Australia’s Best Ski Resort” for four years running thanks to its diverse terrain, lots of off-piste action, awesome village amenities and authentic alpine village ambiance. Thredbo has 1200 skiable acres with great terrain parks, the highest lift point, longest vertical drop and the five longest ski runs in Australia. The terrain is perfect for all abilities from beginner to advanced and if you’re looking for some of the best vertical runs and steeps in NSW, Thredbo delivers!

Perisher is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere with 3000 skiable acres set over 4 villages and ski areas connected by an underground alpine railway. This family-friendly Snowy Mountain ski resort features five terrain parks, Australia’s only half-pipe and four unique resort areas catering to all levels. At Perisher Resort, you can ski all weekend without doing the same run twice!

From the Perisher Valley ski tube terminal, you can take over snow transport to Charlotte’s Pass, the highest village in Australia set at an elevation of 1765m in the Kosciuszko National Park. While it’s altitude promises the most consistent snowfall in the Snowy Mountains, Charlotte’s Pass is snowbound in the winter months. The Charlotte’s Pass DayTripper gives you over snow transport and access to 19 pristine runs for all levels, a freestyle terrain park, kids play park and enhanced natural terrain.

In the northernmost section of the Snowy Mountains lies the small, kid-friendly resort of Selwyn, currently being rebuilt into an enhanced and revigorated Snowy Mountain ski resort. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Jindabyne is the adventure base camp for the Snowy Mountains and our Snow Escape holiday homes put you in the heart of Australia’s best ski resorts. Whether you’re carving the slopes or heading off-piste into the wilderness of the Snowy Mountains, you’ll look forward to returning to the warmth and welcome of a Snow Escape holiday home.
